Nui Thanh runs south out of Hai Chau, and at number 1 there is a room that describes itself, in Japanese, as a popular Da Nang girls bar with VIP private rooms. BUBBLE TOKYO is built for the Japanese and Korean residents of the city, and the interior says so before anyone speaks: mirror ceiling, magenta neon, a long counter with the cast working behind it.
There are two ways to use the place. The counter is the social option, where a hostess sits opposite rather than beside you and the evening stays light. The VIP are the reason to book ahead, since they are private, they take a group, and they are where the karaoke happens.
The cast works the bar together rather than being assigned at the door, which is visible in the venue's own photographs and matters if you are arriving alone: there is no awkward selection, someone comes to you.
Published prices run from 110,000 VND at the low end through 192,500 and 275,000 VND, with 550,000 VND at the top of the listed range. The venue publishes its menu in seven languages including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, English and Russian, which is unusual and tells you who walks through the door.
It carries a 4.8 rating from 83 Google reviews. Online booking and phone reservation are both offered, and the VIP rooms are worth reserving at the weekend.
